The upper house this afternoon approved a variation of appropriation bill which sanctions a transfer of 200-million dollars from the Ministry of Energy to the Ministry of Works.
The money was to facilitate work on the Point Fortin highway.
But opposition Senator Wade Mark sought to go beyond that and boasted about how much the last government was able to do at a time of falling oil prices and without bursting the bank.
However, the finance minister said Mr Mark was taking pride in inaccurate figures. Akash Samaroo has more.
