Anti-Gang bill will not work without proper policing

Two weeks after the opposition indicated its willingness to support the anti-gang legislation, the bill has returned to the parliament with at least one of its members assuring the UNC bench will give its support.

But senator Gerald Ramdeen and independent senator Dhanayshar Mahabir are advising the government that passing the legislation won't solve the problem.

They say the onus of eliminating gangs will now be on the police service.
