Counter-Trafficking Unit lobbies for human trafficking to be non-bailable offence

The Counter-Trafficking Unit is lobbying the State and the Judiciary to make human trafficking a non-bailable offence and to ensure that cases are heard in an expeditious manner.
With no special court to hear these cases, the CTU believes their matters must be prioritised because of the impact on victims and their families.
Our GML Enterprise team of Mano Ragbir and Rosemarie Sant spoke with the deputy director of the CTU, Alana Wheeler and chairman of the Children’s Ark, Simone De La Bastide for this report from Otto Carrington.
