PM: Former PM 's office spent $1B on telephone calls, foreign travel, official entertainment in two years

Almost $1 billion was spent in two years on telephone bills, official entertainment, overseas travel and other items.

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley says between 2011 and 2012 the Office of the Prime Minister spent large sums of money including $300 million on telephone bills.

He made the revelation in the Budget debate as he sought to explain how his government has cut those costs.
