A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed by police in an exchange of gunfire with members of the Tunapuna Police Task Force today
According to reports, around 11 am officers responded to a call that a man was seen with a firearm on premises located at Maingot Road, Tunapuna.
When police officers arrived on the scene there was an exchange of gunfire and later, Josiah Ramsahai, was found suffering from gunshot wound.
He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injury.
Police say a 9mm firearm was recovered from the scene.
Ramsahai lived at Pasea Road Extension, Thompson Trace, Tunapuna, and was on 13 charges including possession of firearm, possession of narcotics, rape and larceny.
The offences are alleged to have been committed in 2014 and 2016.
Investigations are continuing into the shooting death.
