Chief Magistrate Marcia Ayres-Ceasar has set bail of $150,000 for the man charged with unlawfully killing 23-month-old Khrista Knutt.
Knutt was electrocuted at her Laventille home last week after being found unresponsive.
Coast Guard officer Emile Garraway has been charged with unlawfully killing Knutt.
Doctors observed burn marks to the child's torso when she was taken to hospital on December 7th.
An autopsy by pathologist Dr Hughvon Des Vignes found that the child died of "blunt craniocerebral trauma" or traumatic brain injury and aspiration due to pneumonia and electrocution.
Garraway must surrender his passport and report to the Arouca police station twice weekly.
