19 Venezuelan girls aged 15 to 19 rescued in major human trafficking bust

19 Venezuelan female minors between the ages of 15 and 19 were rescued by police officers in what is said to be a major human trafficking and slavery bust.

Police say, officers of the special organisation response team, child protection unit, counter-trafficking unit and FIB descended upon Stir Fry Asian restaurant around two this morning.

Officers entered the premises via a search warrant and removed the girls who they say were being forced into prostitution, slavery and illegal drugs.

Right now, police sources say operations are now ongoing in Westmoorings, Morne Coco road Diego Martin and parts of north and northwestern Trinidad.
