A two-month-old baby is fighting for his life at the San Fernando General Hospital after he fell over a bannister at his parent's home in Point Fortin on New Year’s Day.
The baby is said to be resting in a critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.
Police said the mother was walking with the child when she tripped. The baby fell out her hands, hit into the bannister and then fell down. He suffered cranial injuries and a broken hand. Police have questioned the mother and other family members. The matter is being investigated as an accident.
