270 rounds of ammunition, cocaine found on roof of Nelson Street apartment

Over 270 rounds of assorted ammunition and a quantity of cocaine were seized by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force Strike Team during an anti-crime exercise in the Port of Spain district.

The exercise was carried out between 6 am and 11:30 am on Wednesday 26th April, 2017, at the Nelson Street Plannings, Port of Spain.

A search of the roof of Apartment B, Building 47-49, resulted in the discovery of 29 rounds of 20 gauge shotgun cartridges, while a search of the roof of Apartment C, Building 59-61, yielded 85 grammes of cocaine. The officers later carried out searches in the vicinity of Building 35- 37, leading to the discovery of a black plastic bag, containing 245 rounds of .22mm ammunition, along with five rounds of .9mm ammunition.

No one was arrested in connection with the finds.
