37-year-old St James man held with gun, ammunition, drugs

A 37-year-old St James man is now in police custody, after he was found to be in possession of a weapon and a quantity of ammunition and narcotics.

Police say that around 2:15 pm on Sunday 2nd April, 2017, a party of officers on mobile patrol in the St James Police district, responded to a report of two men conducting narcotic sales at Dundonald Hill.

On seeing the officers, the two men ran off.

One of the suspects was apprehended a short distance away, while the second man managed to escape.

Upon searching the suspect, officers found one Tanfoglio Force 99 pistol with eleven rounds of 9mm ammunition in the magazine, sixteen rounds of 9mm ammunition, as well as, 105 grammes of marijuana and 6.5 grammes of cocaine, on his person.

He was arrested and taken to the St. James Police Station.
