Police officers with support from Defence Force personnel are maintaining the sustained anti-crime effort in parts of the Northern Division, with another major joint anti-crime operation, targeting persons in the La Horquetta and Maloney communities.
One hundred and fifteen (115) officers were involved in the exercise which began yesterday, Thursday 24th November, 2016, at 6:00am and concluded at 3:00am today, Friday 25th November, 2016.
The exercise yielded the arrests of 52 persons – four on possession of cocaine, 22 for outstanding warrants in relation to gun-related offences, five for possession of a firearm, four for possession of marijuana and three for possession of camouflage clothing.
Other suspects were held for various outstanding warrants.
Three firearms – a Smith and Wesson .38 revolver, a Glock 21 .45 pistol and a Colt 45 pistol were recovered.
The operation was spearheaded by ACP (Ag.) Sterling Hackshaw and co-ordinated by Snr. Supt. (Ag.), McDonald Jacob and Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Garth Nelson of the Northern Division.
Officers of the Northern Division Task Force were assisted by members of the Guard and Emergency Branch in the execution of the exercise.
