In just four hours, 65 motorists driving along Southern Main Road, Valsayn, were issued fixed penalty notices for speeding by officers attached to the Northern Division Speed Unit, during a speed exercise in the St. Joseph district.
The exercise, which took place between 11 am and 3 pm on Wednesday, was spearheaded by ACP (Ag.) McDonald Jacob and supervised by Insp. Naim Gyan, of the St. Joseph Police Station.
The highest speed recorded for the duration of the exercise was 88kph, while the speed limit for that area is 50kph.
The Police Service is encouraging all citizens to adhere to traffic regulations, as they are in place to ensure the safety of all road users; both drivers and pedestrians.
