Accident causes downtown PoS gridlock

A minor accident near the Central Bank Towers in Port-of-Spain earlier today caused a massive traffic pileup in the downtown parts of the capital.

According to reports, two cars collided at the bottom of Edward Street, just before where it intersects with South Quay heading east. One of the vehicles ended up on top of the other and was unable to move.

As such, police had to call a wrecker to remove the vehicle. In the interim, however, vehicles from Abercromby Street and Wrightson Road could not access the roadway heading east.

Other motorists slowing down to gawk at the accident also led to the backup of traffic.
