Acting Police Commissioner, Stephen Williams, has expressed sadness over the death of, No.19714 PC Shaquille Mondesir, of the Southern Division Task Force.
A statement by the Police Service says the Commissioner has also conveyed condolences to the relatives of the late officer. PC Mondesir, 22, who died following a vehicular accident along the west-bound lane of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, in the vicinity of Lifestyle Motors, El Socorro, at around 12:15 am today.
The police report on the accident indicates that the Nissan Tiida, which PC Mondesir was travelling in, along with fellow officer, No.19644 PC Dane Horsford, of the Tableland Police Station, skidded off the roadway and collided with a culvert.
The officer died shortly thereafter at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, whilst PC Horsford, who suffered serious injuries, remains hospitalized.
PC Mondesir was sworn-in as a police officer on January 16th 2015, along with his colleague PC Horsford, 27.
