Acting COP affirms professionalism of Special Branch

Acting Commissioner of Police Stephen Williams is tonight affirm the professionalism of the Police Special Branch, saying the officers have always operated in a professional manner.

This follows reports that officers in the branch are to be transferred after a complaint was made about long work hours.

The Office of the Commissioner issued this statement today:

"Commissioner of Police (Ag.), Stephen Williams, wishes to confirm that the Special Branch of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is the most elite VIP Protection Unit in Trinidad and Tobago which provides VIP protection services to the President, Prime Minister and other key office holders.

Special Branch Officers continuously operate in a professional manner and will not compromise, in any way, the services they provide to these office holders.

Today, Friday 10th June, 2016, the Commissioner of Police met with the President of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Social and Welfare Association ASP (Ag,), Anand Ramesar, and other executive members of the association and effectively addressed all concerns raised in relation to their members."
