Alternative traffic routes as Maraval landslide reoccurs

Drivers are being advised to find alternative routes after a landslip reoccurred on Saddle Road in Maraval on Tuesday.

The Ministry of Works and Transport has issued a statement saying that ongoing repair works are currently ongoing at #1 Boissiere Village, Saddle Road, Maraval (Opposite M&M Insurance Ltd.)

It has advised of the following traffic restrictions being enforced to complete works at the site from Tuesday September 27 to Friday September 30, 2016:

Saddle Road between the Roundabout (KFC) (North) and Rapsey Street (South)

Vehicles heading South Bound only 6:00 am to 9:00 am
No through traffic, local traffic only 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Vehicles heading North Bound only 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
No through traffic, local traffic only 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm

The public is advised to utilize the following alternative routes:

Alternative route North-bound traffic: Rapsey Street to Jamaica Blvd right turn onto Barbados Road right turn onto Long Circular Road

Alternative route South-bound traffic: Long Circular Road left turn onto Barbados Road left turn onto Jamaica Blvd to Rapsey Street

The Ministry of Works and Transport says it regrets any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for its continued cooperation.
