Ammunition, drugs found in Blanchissuese, Morvant

Two guns and quantities of ammunition and narcotics were found in the Blanchisseuse and Morvant districts, during an anti-crime exercise, conducted by officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force, yesterday.

The exercise, which commenced at 1pm on Tuesday 6th June, 2017 and ended at 10:30am on Wednesday 7th June, 2017, was coordinated by ACP Surajdeen Persad, supervised by Snr. Supt. Surrendra Sagramsingh and involved officers of the Morvant Police Station, CID, Maracas Bay and Blanchisseuse Coastal Patrol and Canine Branch.

Officers went to a forested area off Paria Main Road, Blanchisseuse, where they discovered 15 kilogrammes of marijuana, with a street value of $150,000.

The officers then proceeded to Nine Storeys, Almond Drive, Morvant, where they discovered one .38mm revolver, one .9mm pistol, with a magazine containing four rounds of ammunition, 1.4 kilogrammes of marijuana and 11 grammes of cocaine, with a total street value of $16,500.

No arrest was made in connection with the finds.
