Another woman who claimed she was raped by a man who posed as a professional photographer has come forward even as police renewed their call more victims to report their crime.
The woman contacted police on Sunday after the T&T Police Service (TTPS) issued a call for victims, who had not reported their attacks previously, to do so.
The suspect was expected to be taken to court yesterday but this was delayed as he had to take part in another identification parade. The suspect is already facing charges in relation to an attack on a 19-year-old university student.
A release from the TTPS Public Affairs Unit, issued yesterday stated: “TTPS is seeking information from members of the public who may have interacted with the Instagram account ‘figarott’, or ‘Figaros International Model Agency’, or a person with a Facebook profile by the name of ‘Kyle Romiah’. Anyone with information about the above social media accounts is asked to contact 671-0988.”
The suspect was identified last week after the teenage victim reported her attack during a visit to the man’s home. She reportedly responded to a classified advertisement seeking models, placed in three daily newspapers, and agreed to meet the suspect for a photoshoot. While there she was raped by the suspect, who videotaped the incident.
The suspect’s computers and electronic devices were seized during a subsequent raid on his home.
Police allegedly found several videos of the similar attacks on other yet to be identified victims.
Senior Supt Inraj Balram, ASP Smith, Insp Alexander and Sgt Pierre of the Central Division are continuing investigations.
