Homicide officers are continuing investigations into the murder of 42-year-old pastor Alisha Ali of Gill Trace, Lamont Village, Longdenville.
Pastor Ali died at the Chaguanas District Health Facility after she was found with a bread knife stuck inside a wound to her face on the ground of her bedroom.
Her body bore several stab wounds as well.
An autopsy will be carried out today at the Forensic Science Centre in St James.
A suspect currently is in police custody in connection with the murder.
The man was arrested by police in Sangre Grande, over the weekend.
He will face an ID parade at some time today, following which he is expected to be charged with her murder, pending instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Reports are that the murder was committed on Saturday night following an argument between the pastor and the suspect.
The murder was reportedly witnessed by Pastor Ali’s 10-year-old grand-daughter.
