Quick work by officers of the Barataria Police Station, resulted in two bandits being apprehended and stolen money recovered, just moments after the men robbed a bar owner of a quantity of cash at gunpoint.
According to police reports, officers were on mobile patrol, in the Aranguez district, when they responded to a report of an armed robbery at a bar along the Aranguez Main Road, at around 9:30 pm, on Tuesday 19th June 2018.
The bar proprietor reported that he was confronted by two men, one armed with a gun, at his establishment and robbed of a quantity of cash.
The men then made their escape in a motor vehicle.
The victim made a report to the police and the officers immediately responded and intercepted the vehicle with the two suspects, within minutes.
A search of the vehicle resulted in a revolver and five rounds of ammunition were seized and the stolen cash recovered.
The two male suspects; a 34-year-old of Curepe and a 26-year-old of St. Augustine, were arrested in connection with the incident.
