Barrackpore man held with 2 guns

One man was ar­rest­ed, two pis­tols and quan­ti­ties of am­mu­ni­tion seized, by of­fi­cers of the Ste. Madeleine Po­lice Sta­tion, dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in the Princes Town dis­trict

Of­fi­cers con­duct­ed the ex­er­cise on Sun­day dur­ing which they pro­ceed­ed to a bushy area at St. Charles Road, Princes Town, where they found a makeshift camp oc­cu­pied by one man.

 

A search of the camp re­sult­ed in of­fi­cers find­ing a black bag con­tain­ing a Sphinx pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing sev­en rounds of am­mu­ni­tion and a Beretta pis­tol al­so loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing sev­en rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

The sus­pect, a 41-year-old man of New Colo­nial Road, Bar­rack­pore, was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the finds.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.
