Members of the public are advised to be vigilant and careful when visiting or water sites during this time of the year. When at the beach, stay or venture into water only waist high. Watch children at all times, and never let them go into or near the water unsupervised. Do not consume alcohol and attempt to go swimming. Listen to Life Guards on duty. Observe carefully, if the water is rough, stay onshore.
At rivers it is advised to avoid diving head first into rivers as they are known to have large rocks. Stay away from where cascading waterfalls meet the pool of water below, this tends to pull you down and hold you under the water. Be very vigilant with children."
