Sea Lots community leader Cedric Burke, also known as Burkie, has been taken into custody following a police exercise in the area Wednesday morning.
Guardian Media understands that various arms of the T&T Police Service conducted an exercise around seven this morning in the community when Burke was allegedly found to be in possession of a large quantity of money. He was subsequently taken into custody pending further inquiries.
Present during the exercise were officers of the Guard and Emergency Branch, IATF, FIU, SORT and members of the K-9 unit.
At this time, there is no indication that anyone else was taken into custody.
The home of a boat owner who was wanted by police in connection with the murder of WPC Nyasha Charles in 2017 was also searched.
