Caribbean Airlines is advising that no employee of the airline has been arrested while on-duty.
This follows a media release by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service on January 02, 2018 that indicated that a 31-year-old male flight attendant who works with Caribbean Airlines, was arrested during an anti-crime exercise, in Sangre Grande, on Sunday 31st December, 2017.
A pistol and a quantity of ammunition were seized from his vehicle by officers of the Eastern Division Task Force.
However, the airline is making it clear that the individual was not on active duty at the time of the arrest.
Police said that officers conducted the exercise around 8 pm on Sunday 31st December, 2017, during which they had cause to search a black Audi A4 motor vehicle which was parked with two occupants opposite the Sangre Grande Police Station.
The search resulted in one Beretta pistol and ten rounds of ammunition being found on the back seat of the vehicle.
The occupants of the vehicle; a 31-year-old man of Boodoo Highway, Sangre Grande and a 37-year-old woman of Malabar Extension, Malabar, were arrested in connection with the find.
