CAL cancels flights to Florida on Thursday

Caribbean Airlines has announced a further cancellation of flights to Florida this week as Hurricane Matthew approaches the state.

The airline posted the latest cancellations on its website today. 

Thousands of Caribbean nationals are travelling to Miami this week for the annual Miami Carnival.

The following is Caribbean Airlines' notice:

"Caribbean Airlines advises that due to Hurricane Matthew, the following Caribbean Airlines flights for Thursday October 6th are now cancelled:

FLIGHTS CANCELLED FOR THURSDAY OCTOBER 06, 2016:

BW 484 departing Piarco International, Trinidad to Miami International, Florida 

BW 483 departing Miami International, Florida to Piarco International, Trinidad

BW 480 departing Piarco International, Trinidad to Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood International, Florida

BW 481 departing Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood International, Florida to Piarco International, Trinidad

BW 031 departing Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica to Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood International, Florida

BW 036 departing Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood International, Florida to Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica

BW 030 departing Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood International, Florida to Montego Bay, Jamaica

BW 039 departing Montego Bay, Jamaica to Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood International, Florida

The airline has activated its call out plan to contact customers travelling on these services. Passengers booked and ticketed to travel on Caribbean Airlines during the period October 4th- 8th, 2016, will be permitted to make changes to their reservations without penalty subject to the specific conditions.
