The Chaguanas Borough Corporation says it is prepared for any eventuality arising from the impending tropical storm.
The Corporation is warning citizens to exercise caution and be vigilant.
The following is a statement by the Corporation.
"The Chaguanas Borough Corporation’s Emergency response Unit is actively operational for any eventuality arising out of the impending tropical storm warning that is in effect at this time.
At an emergency meeting this morning, with the relevant stakeholders, headed by Acting Commissioner of Police for Central Division, Mr. Surajdeen Persad, inclusive of Senior Superintendent Kenny Mc Intyre, Inspector Chunilal Bedassie and Inspector Gibbs of the Central Division Police, have given their unstinting support and commitment to maintain law and order and assist residents in the various communities.
Today’s Operational Response Plan, headed by Mayor Gopaul Boodhan, and was attended by Deputy Mayor Faaiq Mohammed, Councillor Ronald Heera, Councillor Vandana Mohit, Councillor Andell Paramsook, Councillor Debideen Manick and Alderman Marisa Ramlogan and partnering stakeholders, inclusive of REACT, Police, Fire Services, and Disaster Management.
We urge all citizens to please exercise caution and be vigilant in case of flash flooding or any other adverse effects of the inclement weather pattern at this time. We will be continually updating our burgesses via social media."
