Convicted terrorist Kareem Ibrahim has died at a Maximum Security Prison in Springfield, Missouri.
Attorney Fareed Scoon says the 70-year-old died of heart failure. He says he had been ailing for the last two weeks with a heart problem.
Ibrahim was convicted on May 26th, 2011 of conspiracy to launch a terrorist attack at the John F Kennedy Airport in New York in 2007.
He was convicted together with Guyanese nationals Russell Defreitas and Abdul Kadir.
The trio was arrested in Trinidad in June 2007 and extradited to the US to face trial.
In November last year, the Office of the Attorney General invoked the Anti-Terrorism Act for the first time as it moved to seize Ibrahim's local assets.
The State was unable to find any assest - cash, property or business interests - which could have been seized.
