Cops find firearms and narcotics in Couva

Central Division Police have found illegal firearms and a quantity of narcotics in the Couva District, during an anti-crime exercise, yesterday.

The exercise was conducted 3pm and 6pm.

According to official police reports, officers of the Central Division proceeded to Mc Bean Village, where they conducted a search of an area known for illegal activities.

There, they discovered and seized two pistols and 267 grammes of cocaine, which were hidden in a black plastic bag.

The exercise was coordinated by Snr. Supt. Hunte, Supt. Mystar, ASP Smith, Insp. Gokool and included officers of the Major Crimes Unit and the Chaguanas CID.

Investigations are ongoing.
