Four people have been killed following three separate incidents in Diego Martin, Morvant and Maraval respectively, which occurred within a bloody six-hour stretch from Saturday night into yesterday morning.
In the first incident, 38-year-old Peter Kurt Carrera and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Josanne Ragoonanan, were killed at their Tomato Trace, Diego Martin apartment after a man came asking for Carrera.
According to police reports, the man came to the area asking for ‘Kurt’ shortly before 10 pm.
The man approached his relatives and was directed to Carrera’s apartment.
He stormed into the apartment and shots rang out shortly after.
The man then fled the scene.
Carrera’s relatives came into the apartment where they found the couple dead.
About a half- an- hour later Kareem Garcia was gunned down a short distance away from his Never Dirty, Morvant home.
Police were told at around 10.30 pm, Kareem Garcia was standing with a group of people when a white AD wagon pulled up alongside them and opened fire.
The group attempted to evade the shots but Garcia, 27, was hit about the body while Fay-Ann Cordiner was stuck in the lower back and Michael Edwards was shot in his buttocks.
Garcia was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
In the third incident, 22-year-old Adrian Grant was fatally stabbed in a bar in Maraval.
According to reports, at around 3 am, Grant, also known as ‘Tec’, was seen arguing with a woman at the Jep Nest bar.
The verbal confrontation became physical and Grant was stabbed. The woman fled the scene.
Grant was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he died at around 10 am.
Police said Grant was known to them.
Earlier on Saturday, a man was struck and killed in a vehicular accident along the Churchill- Roosevelt Highway near the Grand Bazaar intersection.
According to reports at around 7.45 pm, a man was driving west along the highway when he saw something hit his windshield
When he stopped after making sure it was safe to do so, and when he checked he saw a man of Indian descent lying dead on the roadway.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man.
He was clad in a chequered shirt and dark green long pants.
He is believed to be in his 40s.
The man is believed to be the 36th road fatality for the year.
