A Cunupia man is expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate today, charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, after being arrested during an anti-crime exercise in the Cunupia district yesterday.
Jarod Khan, 25, of Jackman Trace, Cunupia, was arrested by officers of the Southern Division Task Force (SDTF), after a search warrant was executed at his home.
The exercise, supervised by Insp. (Ag.) Don Gajadhar and Sgt. Vishal Parasram, both of the SDTF, took place between 3 pm and 7 pm on Monday 14th May, 2018.
During the exercise, a search warrant was executed at Khan’s home around 5:30pm, and resulted in officers discovering one Mac 11 380 sub-machine gun loaded with a magazine containing 10 rounds of .9mm ammunition, hidden in a toilet tank. Khan was arrested in connection with the find and subsequently charged by PC Dominic Mohammed, of the SDTF.
