Debe man charged with possession of ammunition

One man has been arrested and charged for possession of ammunition and a prohibited weapon, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Debe district yesterday.

During the exercise, officers of the Barrackpore Criminal Investigations Department, executed a search warrant at the home of a suspect at Transfer Village, Debe on Wednesday.

The search resulted in officers discovering one AK-47 magazine loaded with 25 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, hidden in the house.

Stanley Nandlal, a 38-year-old of Debe, was arrested and charged in connection with the find, and is expected to appear before the Princes Town Magistrate today.
