Dow Village man in court charged with possession of over $900,000 in cocaine

Curtis La Foucade of Dow Village is expected to appear before a Siparia Magistrate today charged with the possession of over $900,000 dollars worth of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

According to police reports, La Foucade was arrested by officers attached to the South Western Division Task Force (SWDTF), during an anti-crime exercise, in the district, yesterday. 

During the exercise, officers had cause to stop and search a white Hyundai H100 van, driven by a male suspect, in the vicinity of Red Brick Trace, South Oropouche.

The search resulted in two packets containing a total of 2.39 kilogrammes of cocaine being discovered in the vehicle. 

The drug has an estimated street value of $956,000. 

La Foucade was charged by PC Visham Sahadeo, of the SWDTF, on Tuesday 19th June 2018.
