One Opposition MP is again refuting claims by National Security Minister Stuart Young that MPs were aligned with members of the criminal underworld.
Speaking on CNC3's The Morning Brew earlier today, Minister Young again alleged there were Members of Parliament engaging with criminals.
He also confirmed that the circumstances of some of the crooked relationships were being investigated by the police.
But Oropouche East MP, Dr Roodal Moonilal, again distanced UNC members from the accusations being made by the national security minister.
He said it was high time the minister shape up or ship out.
“He should bring such evidence before the JSC,” Dr Moonilal argues, “or else if he can’t bring the evidence, he should keep quiet. If he cannot bring change he ought to do the right thing and resign. He has been a failure and continues with these conspiracy theories that have absolutely no foundation in the truth.”
Meanwhile, Dr Moonilal promises that Minister Young will be made to answer for his ministry's shortcomings when he faces a Joint Select Committee of Parliament on matters of National Security.
