Education Ministry confirms closure of Milton Presbyterian School due to septic waste

The Ministry of Education has advised that the Milton Presbyterian Primary School has been closed by officials of the Public Health Department.

It said that the Public Health Department indicated that septic waste together with general waste from neighbours on the eastern side of the school is being emptied on to the back of the school’s compound.

It adds that Milton Presbyterian Primary School is in no way affected by any issues with the school’s infrastructure or on the school compound.

The Education Minister said that currently, it is not safe to have staff or students occupy the building as it is unhealthy to be exposed to the unsanitary environment around the school.

It goes on to say that the Ministry of Education and officials from the Public Health Department are moving with urgency to have this matter rectified to ensure students and teachers return to a clean environment and into the classroom in the shortest possible time frame.
