Court prosecutor Cleyon Seedan said Babwah’s son Sterling, 20, is warded in a stable condition at the San Fernando General Hospital.
The incident took place on September 9 at their home. Sterling was chopped on his left arm and underwent emergency surgery.
Babwah was charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm by Sgt Toolah Julien.
Babwah said he would reside with his mother who lives a few houses away.
He was granted $50,000 approval bail with a cash alternative of $5,000. The matter was adjourned to October 18.
