Febeau man charged with younger brother's murder

A 30-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the stabbing death of his younger brother.

Police say that 30-year-old Kevon Hypolite of La Hoe Road, Febeau Village, Laventille Road, San Juan, appeared before a Port of Spain Magistrate Court charged with the stabbing death of his younger brother, 24-year-old Kelly.

The police statement says that Kelly met his death during a dispute over occupation of the family home at Febeau Village on March 28th, 2016.

The accused appeared before Chief Magistrate, Marcia Ayers-Caesar, in the Port of Spain Eight Court where the matter was postponed to tomorrow, Tuesday 5th to allow a tracing to be carried out.

The statement says that the Director of Public Prosecution, Roger Gaspard, had directed that Kevon Hypolite be charged with manslaughter in the death of his brother.

PC Davidson of the San Juan Police Station laid the charge.
