Fisherman appears in court for murder of 14-year-old schoolboy Darian Nedd

Police have confirmed that a 25-year old fisherman today appeared before Siparia Magistrate, Margaret Alert, charged with the murder of schoolboy, Darian Nedd, whose charred remains were found in the burnt-out ruins of a wooden structure at Deo Bruce Trace, South Oropouche, on Sunday 20th March.

The case against Roger Ragoopath of Red Brick Trace, South Oropouche, was postponed to April 26th, 2016.

Police say that based on the strength of the case submitted by the Homicide Investigation Bureau, Region 1, Deputy DPP South Joan Honore-Paul, gave instruction to charge Ragoopath with the murder of the 14-year-old pupil, of the Siparia High School.

The charge was laid on Easter Sunday, March 27th, 2016, by PC Subash Harrypersad.
