Effective September 1st, Flow customers will see a 6.3 percent increase in their residential cable packages.
The announcement was made on Flow's website today.
The new prices not only wipe out the benefits given to customers from the drop in VAT, but customers will now be required to pay more than they were paying, before VAT fell.
Flow's statement says: “This price increase has become necessary due to the following: ongoing fall of the TT dollar in relation to the US dollar, increased programming cost from content providers and replacement and addition to new channels to our line up”.
A Digital Basic package will increase by $15.42 from $244.57 to $259.99.
Flow's Advanced Video TV Plus package will go up by $15.97, from $269.02 to $284.99.
The Advanced Video TV Max package will increase by $15.79 from $351.20 to $366.99 and the Advanced Video TV Match All package goes up by $16.40, from $468.59 to $484.99.
Flow's monthly rental cost for additional television outlets will also increase.
Additional rentals on the Digital TV platform will increase from $24.45 to $34.99 while rentals for Advanced Video will increase from $34.23 to $34.99.
Flow's prices had decreased after VAT fell from 15% to 12.5%.
The chart below shows how the prices changed in less than 12 months.
