Former Prime Minister of Jamaica, PJ Patterson, is now undergoing a complete medical evaluation at the University Hospital of the West Indies, following an accident last night.
Mr Patterson was rushed to hospital late Monday evening after a reported motor vehicle accident at his upper St Andrew home. The extent of his injuries, if any, could not be immediately ascertained.
A release from Mr Patterson's office said that about 7:45 pm, the former prime minister had a motor vehicle accident at home, and the incident "required" Patterson to be taken to the Tony Thwaites Wing of the University Hospital of the West Indies for check and observation.
According to the release, Mr Patterson was conscious and alert and with family and friends.
His office said upon the completion of the medical assessment, a more fulsome bulletin on his condition will be issued.
