Four men, who were arrested and charged by officers of the Central Division, 30 minutes after allegedly committing a robbery at Couva pharmacy, are scheduled to appear before the Couva Magistrates’ Court today.
Kurvin Gellineau, 30, of Isaac Street, Couva; Richard Adams, 21, of McBean Couva; Joel Charles, 18, of Southern Main Road, Chase Village; and Aaron Smith, 18, of Orange Field Road, Carapichaima, were arrested by officers attached to the Central Division Task Force and Couva Criminal Investigations Department (CID), 30 minutes after allegedly committing the robbery.
During the incident, which took place around 6:00 pm on Monday 13th August, 2018, at a pharmacy in McBean, Couva, four men, one armed with a gun, entered the pharmacy and announced a robbery. .
The men proceeded to steal a quantity of cash, which represented the day’s sales, from the cashier.
The men then made their escape in a silver Nissan Tiida motor vehicle.
A report was made to the Couva Police Station and resulted in officers discovering the described vehicle and the four men gathered at Adams’ house, shortly after.
A quantity of the cash stolen has been recovered.
All four men were jointly charged with robbery with aggravation by PC Gerrard Gomes, of the Couva CID, on Tuesday 14th August, 2018.
