Police Commissioner Gary Griffith has met with Member of Parliament for Couva South, Rudranath Indarsingh and a cross section of constituents, to hear and discuss their safety and security concerns.
The meeting took place on Wednesday in Couva.
A statement by the Police Service says that the issues raised by members included home invasion, robberies and response times, from officers in dealing with distress calls.
Griffith assured the gathering that police resources are being utilized to effectively reduce crime and the fear of crime in T&T.
He further added that the public should utilize the new and improved E-999 system.
The new E-999 service is being overhauled to allow for greater efficiency, and as such the commissioner said “through this system, officers of the Emergency Response Patrol Team are able to answer and provide services to persons in a shorter timeframe.”
