Suspended Inspector Roger Alexander is rubbishing claims on social media that he has been arrested and detained under the Anti-Gang Act.
Alexander who spoke to Guardian Media via Whatsapp said: "I just want to tell people leave me alone, but they must get their facts right first before posting for likes on the social network."
Within the last 24 hours, reports about surfaced about Alexander being arrested, including a post on Facebook by a police officer. However, Alexander has dismissed these claims and pointed out that he is already on suspension pending the outcome of a court matter.
He said even though he's on suspension he still supports the fight against crime and he passes on any information he gets to police because people still trust him and comes to him for help.
Alexander appealed to people on social media not to post erroneous information.
