International: Chicago father shoots son dead following argument

A 22-year-old man was shot to death by his 43-year-old father, after a verbal argument over who would walk the dog.

The shooting took place in Chicago on Sunday morning.

According to the police, the two men got in an argument, and it escalated into a shootout. The older man is in critical condition while the son was pronounced dead at 9:16am.

The authorities say they received a call from a man who was shot in the city’s Burnside neighbourhood and responded.

A tweet from the Chicago Police Spokesman, Anthony Guglielmi said that the fight between the two was over “who was going to walk the dog” and that both men shot at each other

Two weapons were recovered from the scene, according to police, who are continuing investigation.

Chicago is seen as one of the most violent cities in the USA and according to the Chicago Tribune, the city already has 800 murders for the year.
