Education Minister Anthony Garcia is insisting that an investigation will be the launched to determine how some primary school principals reportedly obtained this year's SEA results before the official release time.

Speaking this morning, Minister Garcia said this was a worrying development.

Meanwhile, San Fernando TML has produced this year's top SEA student, and she has been identified as Caitlin Brooker. Caitlin will now go on to her first choice of Naparima Girls High School.

Grabbing the second spot is Michael Beepath of the Avocat Vedic Primary.

This is the third consecutive year a school in south grabbed the number one spot.

However, Minister Garcia stated that the results this year again show that the nation's girls are excelling at the primary school level.

He said this is evident as over 130 spots in the top 200 were secured by girls
