Jamaica’s former Prime Minister, P.J. Patterson is undergoing surgery today, following a motor vehicle crash at his house in St Andrew.
A statement yesterday from The People’s National Party (PNP), which Mr Patterson used to lead, reported that the medical team attending to him determined that he suffered injuries to his right knee and right hip.
Mr Patterson was taken to the Tony Thwaites Wing at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) on Monday night, following the accident.
The PNP statement also notes that the Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon leading the medical team has indicated that the former Prime Minister is expected to make a full recovery, with the appropriate medical treatment.
