Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar is accusing the Government of having no plan to eliminate violence against women.
Today marked the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against women.
Persad-Bissessar said the PNM has no plan to tackle this issue.
She said in an attempt to score political points the PNM removed several ministries including the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Child Development. Mrs Persad-Bissessar said only when pressured by the
Opposition did the Government say it will reconsider this move.
She said the PNM must now think about how this choice will impact the lives of thousands of women in this country.
