A La Brea man is set to appear before the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court today, to answer charges arising out of a robbery and kidnapping incident of a 44-year-old male victim.
Roy Henry, a 37-year-old of Sobo Village, La Brea, was charged with kidnapping, robbery with aggravation and burglary, following investigations into the kidnapping and robbery of a 44-year-old taxi driver from San Fernando on Sunday.
The victim told police that he was entering his yard around 1 am on the said date, when two men, one armed with a gun and the other with a cutlass approached him.
The victim attempted to escape, but was subdued by the men and forced into a vehicle and taken to Rambart Village, La Romaine.
A third suspect proceeded to rob the victim of a set of keys, a quantity of cash, a silver ring and a cell phone.
All three suspects then made their escape in the vehicle. A report was subsequently made to the San Fernando Police Station, leading officers to proceed to the victim’s home to conduct enquiries.
While there, they apprehended a man who was found inside the house. Charges were laid against Henry by Cpl. Bisnath, of the San Fernando CID. Enquiries are continuing.
