A report on Barbadian website, nationnews.com, has tipped Trinidad and Tobago football legend, Russell Latapy to be announced as head coach of the Barbados senior team later this week.
An announcement will be made this Wednesday at a media conference at the Barbados Football Association’s headquarters.
Latapy most recently took charge of the T&T under-20 team to the Concacaf championship in November last year.
That team had been inactive between the CAC Games in July and the Concacaf tournament in November due to unpaid salaries to Latapy and his staff.
He twice served as T&T Senior Assistant in 2009 and 2017 and was head coach of that team from 2009 to 2011 following the resignation of Francisco Maturana.
Latapy also enjoyed stints as assistant coach with several club teams in Scotland and Portugal.
