Man held in HDC vehicle with marijuana

One man was arrested and a quantity of marijuana seized by officers of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT), during an early morning exercise, conducted in the Central district today.

Acting on intelligence, officers intercepted a silver grey Volkswagen motor vehicle, belonging to the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), with a lone male occupant, along the northbound lane of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, in the vicinity of Fens Furniture store, around 7:24 am.

A search of the vehicle resulted in 128 grammes of marijuana being discovered in several small plastic packets inside a black plastic bag.

The suspect; a 37-year-old, an HDC employee, of Harding Place, Cocorite, was arrested in connection with the find.

Investigations are ongoing.
