Man held for Morvant double murder

A second Morvant man has appeared before the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court, after being charged with the murders of Randy Woods and Nathaniel Cravador.

Nathan Nicholas, a 30-year-old of Morvant, who was also charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, was remanded into custody when he stood before a Magistrate on Monday 31st December, 2018.

The victims; 30-year-old Randy Woods aka ‘Ashes’ and ‘Fifty’, and 18-year-old Nathaniel Cravador aka ‘Baba’, both of Never Dirty Road, Morvant, were found lying in the roadway along Gerbera Avenue, Coconut Drive, Morvant, on Thursday 20th September, 2018, with multiple gunshot wounds about their bodies.

The men were taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital for medical treatment, where they died.

Nicholas was arrested on Sunday 23rd December, 2018, by officers attached to the Morvant Police Station.

Charges were laid on Friday 28th December, 2018, following advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard, SC.

Investigations were supervised by ASP (Ag.) Sean Dhilpaul and W/Sgt. Belinda Sylvester, both of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 2, while Cpl. Kerwin Mitchell, of the Morvant Police Station, laid the charges.

Hassam Mohammed, a 36-year-old of Morvant, was previously charged by Cpl. Mitchell, with the murders of the two victims on Monday 8th October, 2018.

Nicholas is scheduled to reappear in court on Wednesday 9th January, 2019.
